| Cory Smith...is the drummer/percussionist of Common Era. His early days in
playing in a band came while in progress with his other band, "Sure Fire". He
re-met childhood friend, Steve Cameron, who at the time was playing guitar and
in looking for a band. Cory then realized the band he was playing for was getting
nowhere and he wanted out. Cory and Steve formed a new band. From there time went
by, members came and went, but eventually the band took its place on its own. Common Era was officially born after Charlie and Simon joined the band. After a long run for about a year, vocalist Charlie Cowan was replaced by Marcel Gaudet. Thats how Cory got his place as a phenomenal drummer for the band. He plays a ten piece Pearl Custom Series drum set that includes 9 cymbals, 1 set of hi-hats, 4 mounted toms, 1 floor tom, double kick bass, 3 mounted "R"-toms, and a Pearl snare. Corys playing can mostly be recognized as classic rock style with a bit of a turn around. Definately his own unique style to fit this definately unique band. |
